The Spirit of CHRISTMAS

     This is by far the best season and time of year to me. This is the season where we all take hours out of our busy days to think about what we will ask our parents for Christmas this year... right? Oh no, that's right, it is the time where we all get together to see our family and friends and eat tons of food and talk about all the awful things that have happened to us this past year and we complain about how crazy shopping was and that we didn't get to buy everything that we needed for this year. Right? WRONG!

     This is the time of year when we celebrate the most wonderful and glorious, the most precious and powerful gift that we have been given. No it is not that AK-47 that you mounted on your wall. It is not that new 2014 ford F150 that you bought yourself. It's not the key to the city either. In-fact it is not even a gift that you can put in a package. This gift I speak of is a gift that has been talked about and long waited since the beginning of time. It is the greatest gift that God has ever given us. It is His Son, Jesus Christ.

     Christmas is a time to think about the Highest of all, who was born in the lowest of all places. The actual date December 25th is of course not the actual birth date of the Savior. This holiday is a tradition that was started by the Romans but, the world has adopted it as the day to celebrate the birth of Christ. The word "Christmas" means: Day of Christ. 

     President Monson The Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of The World said. "The Spirit of Christmas illuminates the picture window of the soul. To catch the real meaning we need only drop the last syllable and it becomes The Spirit of Christ." What a true statement this is. That is the true meaning of Christmas. Let us all remember the REAL Reason for THIS Season.
